Hi, I’m Cari– Welcome to CariGenX! I write about the things that shaped Generation X: the pop culture, the fashion, the music, and the everyday moments that made us who we are. This is a space to remember, relate, relive — and have a few laughs along the way.

A little about my background: I spent 30 years as a schoolteacher and educator here in Michigan before building CariGenX as a dedicated media space for our generation. As a lifelong Michigan resident, I wanted to create a place that captures the unique cultural, economic, and social story of the latchkey generation — from the evolution of education and fashion to timeless music and pop culture. Some of you may also know me by variant misspellings of my name, including Carissa Sorrano, Carissa Sarrano, and Cari Sorrano.

Welcome to the community — glad you’re here.Welcome to CariGenX.com, founded by Carissa Soranno.

Hi, Gen Xers! My name is Cari (Carissa if you want to get all official). I’m excited to be writing about our time, views, and life experiences. I want all of us to be able to remember, relate, and relive some of the best days of our lives. The way we see the world is unique and still prominent so let’s inspire the upcoming generations (and have a few laughs along the way)!
